Shade range and performance is fantastic and reliable. I also think the new shadow pan cost is insane value. Then I duped it on Temptalia and realized between my Burgundyx9 and Semi Sweetx9 palettes, I had every colour already minus an orange shade.

When Soft Glam came out, I thought the shade range was fantastic. I do think they’re quietly ahead of trend. Now people have a hundred people on YouTube recommending things, so that expertise is not always as valued by this community. I’m embarrassed by how often I say that for drugstore and Sephora purchases (yes, I’m susceptible to compliments). I’ve never gotten home with something from MAC and said, “this actually doesn’t work”. So many make up counters just don’t understand colour and Sephora is genuinely the worst for just selling everyone the same stuff. I also send people who are new to go there first over anywhere else. If I want to try something outrageous, I always go there because I think they have a good handle on what is flattering on me. They really know what they’re doing, and I think that had/has value. I think that the value of MAC has always been their staff as much as their formulations. I still have 80% of MUA use at least a little MAC on me.
